During this tour, you will visit the ancient capital city of Georgia – the town of Mtskheta; here, you will see outstanding UNESCO heritage monuments like the Jvari monastery of VII c., where the beautiful view of the confluence of two rivers, Mtkvari and Aragvi, are seen from, and the Svetitskhoveli cathedral of XI c – the architectural masterpiece of Georgian Renaissance.

I was visiting the sightseeing of the second biggest city of Georgia – Kutaisi, which according to legend, was the ultimate destination of the Jason and Argonauts searching for the Golden Fleece.

Martvili Canyon & Okatse Canyon are one of the most marvelous places in Western Georgia and the most popular destinations in Georgia.

Batumi – the “Pearl of the Black Sea,” as it is often called – is located in the autonomous republic of Adjara. European architects undertook numerous projects in Batumi at the beginning of the 20th century, and today it remains a hub of architectural innovation.

The Royal City, the city of love, Sighnaghi, is one of the cities of the Great Silk Road, surrounded by protective walls with 23 towers. To visit Kakheti and not to visit this beautiful city is simply impossible.

Day 01 Tbilisi – arrival

Arrive Tbilisi International Airport. Meet your guide and drive to Tbilisi. Check-in to hotel.

Day 02 Tbilisi sightseeing tour
  • Tbilisi sightseeing tour – the Old Town and the New City. We begin our tour at the compact area of Old Tbilisi. Starting at the church of Metekhi, we walk to the brick domes of sulfur baths and then on to Narikala fortress – overlooking Mtkvari river gorge. After that we visit the synagogue, and the Sioni and Anchiskhati churches, which mark the end of the Old Town. After we visit the treasury of the National Museum of Georgia, walking along Rustaveli Avenue – the main street in Tbilisi and visit the treasury of the Georgian Museum of Fine Arts. Visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the third biggest Orthodox Church in the world. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 Tbilisi - Ananuri – Gudauri - Stephantsminda – Tbilisi

After breakfast drive north towards the Northern Caucasus along the well-known Georgian Military Road. On the way, we visit Ananuri – a 17th century complex. An exciting drive from Gudauri along the Terek River will take us to Kazbegi – the main town in the region. From Kazbegi, drive with 4 WD vehicles to Gergeti Trinity Church located at 2170m. In good weather, you can see one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus – the mountain Kazbegi (5047m). We go back to Tbilisi. Spend the night in Tbilisi.

Day 04 Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Kutaisi

After breakfast drive to Mtskheta, one of the oldest towns, the cultural and religious center of Georgia. Today, it is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a living museum, with many architectural and historical monuments. Visit Jvari (temple of the Holy Cross), built in the 6th century standing on a high hill overlooking the confluence of two majestic rivers Aragvi and Mtkvari. Visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI century). Continue to Kutaisi, the second biggest city in Georgia which, according to the legend was the ultimate destination of the Jason and Argonauts searching for the Golden Fleece. Visit Bagrati Cathedral (XI c.), Gelati Academy (XII c.) built by King David the Builder. Overnight in Kutaisi.

Day 05 Kutaisi – Okatse Canyon – Martvili Canyon – Batumi

After breakfast we will travel to village Gordi where is located starting point of beautiful natural site Okatse canyon, we will start walking from the historical Dadiani’s forest and step by step arrive at the canyon, it includes 780 meter hanging trail on the cliff and panoramic view point, totally we will walk 2-3 hours till the last checkpoint. Enjoy breathtaking views on the way, green nature and unique canyon over the forest and river Satsiskvilo. Canyon depth is 35-50 meter.

Drive to Martvili canyon, amazing place where we can walk on the small trail in a natural canyon of the river Abasha, we can see unique Kolkheti forests flora with impressive waterfalls. The canyon trail is very small and we will walk about 40 minutes. Drive to seaside Batumi.

Day 06 Batumi - black sea beach
  • After breakfast in the morning Exploring Batumi Botanical Garden which is unique as it contains flora from nine Phyto-geographic areas: East Asia, North America, New Zealand, South America, the Himalayas, Mexico, Australia, the Mediterranean, and the Caucasian humid subtropics. Garden was established in 1912 by the prominent botanist and geographer Andrey Krasnov. The garden collection includes 2037 taxonomic units of plants, including 104 of Caucasian origin.Batumi city tour – Ali and Nino statue; Area of the Piazza; Area of Europe;Having some rest on the black sea beach.
Day 07 Gonio- Makhuntseti waterfall- Queen Tamar bridge- Batumi

In the morning you will set off to South where in 15 km away from Batumi is located the Gonio castle. It was built in I century A.D. and became a well-formed Roman city within one century. Still the archeological excavations are being held in the castle. According to tales Saint Apostle Mathew is buried in this place.
After that you will go on East up to the mountains. Here you can visit the most popular Adjarian winery – Adjarian Wine House where they will offer you to taste special Adjarian wines. After you will continue your way up to the mountains where you will enjoy the unique nature, see the Makhuntseti waterfalls and bridge of Queen Tamar. Meet local inhabitants and take a bench of photos with great breathtaking view on the background. Drive back to Batumi.

Day 08 Batumi – Park “Georgia in Miniatures’’ – Music Park – Tbilisi

After breakfast you can enjoy free morning on the black sea beach and after drive to Tbilisi. On the way we will explore the unique park “Georgia in Miniatures’’ which is located in Shekvetili, Black Sea Coast. It reflects Georgian cultural heritage monuments and architecture sightseeing in miniatures. After incredible miniatures park you will see also unique Music Park- At the park territory there are squares, where Georgian and foreign musicians’ statues are situated. Visitors have an opportunity to listen their beloved musicians’ songs and melodies. Everyone will have a chance to find musician statue that satisfices his/her tasty. It is very nice place and must go destination. Drive to Tbilisi with full of Impressions and memories. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 09 Tbilisi – departure

Check-out from the hotel. Transfer to Tbilisi International Airport. Departure. End of the tour.
